Chinese Drywall Dog Video February 11, 2010

In Florida, German Shepherd dogs are being trained to sniff out Chinese drywall in homes. This is a cost effective alternative when compared to many other options of diagnosis and testing.

The most recent dog in training, Snoop, has undergone roughly 800 hours of training at the Florida Canine Academy. The owner of the dog, John Burrows, had this to say:

“Anywhere that we asked him to check, he was able to document – from a dog’s perspective – that there was Chinese drywall there.”

Using Chinese drywall sniffing dogs is a great alternative to tearing down walls with no conclusive idea of whether or not the tainted material exists. Ass noted above, it is also cost effective.
