Florida has been particularly hit hard, sourcing many complaints from residents. Some areas are even asking for a declaration of a “State of Emergency” as we recently reported. Senator Bill Nelson spoke to U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk on the need for China to own up for the damage it has caused by exporting the defective drywall at the center of the multi district litigation in U.S. District Court.
In an effort to investigate the thousands of defective Chinese drywall allegations, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, starting Wednesday in Beijing, will meet with its Chinese equivalent. CPSC Chairwoman, Inez Tenenbaum, has stated that she will stress notions of fairness and justice, noted spokesman Scott Wolfson.
Homeowners and others sympathetic to the thousands being displaced due to corrosive emissions, allegedly from Chinese drywall, are pushing full force for a revision allowing assistance by way of deductions. Some would argue that the foreclosure crisis could be alleviated in as much as some citizens are enduring strained finances due to juggling mortgage payments as well as new housing accommodations.
A recently developing story as reported by the news-press.com sheds light on a possible solution for some homeowners. New York based company Sabre Technical Services held a press conference Monday at Bell Tower Park – the location where it tested its systems for defective drywall removal this summer. The process entailed the utilization of chlorine dioxide gas, with the aim of eradicating air-borne sulfuric compounds. Chief Technology Officer for Sabre commented that chlorine gas isn’t harmful to household structures or appliances.
